Carla Stennet
I have been a swimming teacher for 3 years before I was a swimming teacher I worked as a teaching assistant for 17 years in schools around Bognor. I love my job and I am passionate about teaching children to swim and be safe in the water. I have 2 children both boys who also love swimming! My hobbies are cross-stitch, going out for walks and spending time with my family.

You can find me around the centre both as a lifeguard and as a swim teacher. In both roles I always aim to make sure people are safe and are enjoying their experience. Outside of work you'll find me training for long-distance running & functional fitness events, catching the newest films at the pictures and attending live music concerts.
Laura Brown
I have been teaching swimming since I was 16. Before this I was a competitive swimmer in Bognor Swimming Club and swum 8 times a week. I competed in swim galas most Saturdays for BRSC and got to swim for Sussex in the County Championships. I had a great time one summer when I was 21, swim teaching/lifeguarding in a Summer Camp in America and came back and carried on swim teaching. I love seeing kids gaining water confidence and enjoying swimming as much as I did at their age.
Kim Talbot
Hi, my name is Kim, and I’m a level 2 Swim England teacher. Several years back, I began working as a pool helper at Arun Leisure Centre, and then qualified as a swimming teacher in 2023. I have always loved swimming. At age 4 I started swimming lessons at Littlehampton Pool (now The Wave), and then became part of the junior squad here at Arun as a teenager. You’ll find I’m easy to spot poolside - I’m usually the one in the red wheelchair with the rainbow spokes and various types of crocs! Much like a penguin, I waddle on land but fly through the water. I’m passionate about showing my students that regardless of what life throws at you, you can do anything - we just might have to do it a little differently sometimes.
Mandy Evans
I have worked at the centre for nearly 20 years and during this time I have taught thousands of people to swim. I love to travel and share my passion of Open Water Swimming by teaching all age groups throughout the year in the sea.
Mel Dixon
I began my journey as a swimming instructor in 2019. After a brief pause in my career due to the Covid pandemic, l have recently returned to teaching with extra enthusiasm. I love seeing the smiles on learners' faces as they master new skills, knowing that these abilities will stay with them for a lifetime. I am passionate about fostering a love for swimming and building confidence in the water.
Mo Van Zigl
Hi, I'm Mo. I've been a swimming teacher since 2004, and have a lot experience in teaching and a little coaching of swimming. I love to see the children I teach, progress from my lessons, and move through the different stages, as they become more confident swimmers. An important life skill in my eyes for all children. My reward and joy in seeing them accomplish little but important milestones, and the delight in their faces, when they can do it. My interests are swimming, my family, socialising and living my life to the full.
Natalie Wilson
I’ve been a swimming teacher for a few years and I love it. I’m very passionate about the importance of learning but also the fun it can bring! When I’m not at work I walk my two dogs and spend quality time with my daughter. I also enjoy a good book.
